I’m one of the newbies here at CrossFit Burleigh, however feel like I have been apart of the team for years. From the moment I stepped through the doors I felt welcomed and a part of this great CrossFit family. The coaches and people are awesome fun to workout with. We all work really hard but have fun at the sometime. The coaches are incredibly supportive and professional in their approach. I have totally trust in their guidance and have achieved some great goals in such a short time and continue to get stronger and fitter. CrossFit is a huge part of my life and I just LOVE that I get to share it with such great people. I have boxes that are a lot closer to my home however I choose to travel a little further to train here in this inspiring environment.
Beware, CrossFit Burleigh ROCKS! I am totally hooked with CrossFit and never imagined that doing a workout would be so much fun. When I started at CrossFit Burleigh, Taryn, Mel & Sarah have not only made me feel welcome and given me huge encouragement, especially when my health is not great, but so have all the awesome and fun members. The emphasis on correct technique, encouragement, support, working to your physical competences, laughter and family environment is the culture at CrossFit Burleigh. I love the fact that it never gets tedious, there is such a huge variety of movements put together in different sequences and always something new to learn or improve on. I look forward to very session and detest missing a session. It’s addictive – you can’t say I didn’t warn you – CrossFit Burleigh ROCKS!
As an experienced CrossFit convert I find Taryn and Sarah’s coaching excellent. Helpful and knowledgeable but not overbearing. Willing to push you, but respectful of limits and injury. But what really impressed me was the day I convinced my mum to try her first CrossFit class with me. Taryn not only kept me on my game in that session but also welcomed and supported my mum throughout. Providing guidance, modifying movements. Mum and I did the same workout but with totally different fitness and skill levels. Mum had a great time, felt part of the group and she really got a workout.
I am a 43 year old married mum of 2 teenage children and I’ve been at CrossFit Burleigh for nearly 3 years. Burleigh was my first Box and walking through the door was the best move I’ve ever made. Before I started CrossFit I had tried many forms of exercise, from Muay Thai to globo gyms, but I quickly got bored. CrossFit is different. Every day is a different workout, a different challenge.
Taryn, Mel and Sarah are amazing coaches, very knowledgeable and they always make you feel welcome and encourage you all the way!
I have made some amazing friends and challenged myself in ways I never dreamed possible! All classes have a mix of abilities and ages, male and female, but in my opinion, the 9:30am class is the best ever 😉 We’re like one big, happy, crazy, slightly dysfunctional family!!

I have been working out at CrossFit Burleigh for over 2 years now. Starting CrossFit has totally changed my definition of fitness. I love what I can do and that I am pushing my own boundaries all the time. I travel a lot for work and find it very difficult to go to a ‘normal gym’ when I am on the road…it all seems so vain and boring. I miss CrossFit Burleigh so much when I am away.
My wife and I started training at CrossFit Burleigh about 6 months ago.
Having had very little experience with gyms we were a bit apprehensive at first but we quickly fell in love with it and it is now a regular part of our everyday lives.
The coaches are helpful, friendly and very knowledgeable. Taryn has created a fun training environment, where everybody encourages one another and egos are left at the door!
The training programs are always varied, so it never gets boring, and programs can be made to work around any injuries.
We are fitter and stronger than we have ever been, which makes us feel great and makes everyday life easier and more enjoyable.
We look forward to training as opposed to it dreading it!
We would recommend CrossFit Burleigh to everyone, no matter what age, or fitness level.
I have been training at CrossFit Burleigh for nearly 3 1/2 years now and can’t wait to get in every morning. The coaches are there with you on your journey what ever that may be. Your goals are their priority. Focusing on technique which gets you results.
As a Mum of 4 I am achieving things that I would never thought I would thanks to the belief of my coaches and encouragement of the members.
No matter what your level of fitness,ability or age every workout can be adapted to suit where you are at. Just getting over a shoulder injury I was supported and guided with things I was still able to do while letting it heal. I was encouraged even when I was frustrated which made for smart training!
The members that you train with and the atmosphere of the gym are a testament to Taryn and all the coaches.
If your serious about your health and want to be the best version of yourself I would say to you …. Come and do a class at Crossfit Burleigh.
I know the best thing I ever did was walk through that door! The first day is the hardest after that you will start your journey supported by awesome people who you will laugh with everyday making it easy to turn up and train!!!!
After three months I cannot believe the improvement in my strength, fitness and well being. Programs are adapted to your individual ability and needs. The coaching is great and the members encouraging, supportive and friendly. Love it and hate missing a session.
I have met some awesome people and made many great friends, I am really enjoying working out – every session is fun and includes a laugh, and I am doing things I never thought I could. I look forward to going each and every day, and I even miss it if I can’t go!
